Nike Cross Nationals (NXN), the country's only club team and individual national championship in high school cross country, will showcase the two best cross country clubs and top five individuals (not on qualifying clubs) from nine regions--Heartland, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest, South, Northeast, Southeast, California and New York--as well as four at-large teams.

He has made the U.S. Olympic team and represented the USA at the World Championships, but before Monday Galen Rupp (Univ of Oregon) had yet to win an individual NCAA title. Three times Rupp had crossed the line in 2nd place, but at this weeks NCAA Cross Country Championships Rupp stormed to victory and led his Duck team to a repeat team crown.

November 25, 2008 from USATF press release -- 2008 Olympian Galen Rupp (Portland, Ore.) out-dueled Samuel Chelanga of Liberty University to win his first NCAA individual title Monday at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. Running the 10 km course in 29:04, Rupp lead the University of Oregon to their second consecutive team title at the meet.

Naperville North High school was the culprit.
