After running the 400 meters for only four months, University of Oregon sophomore, Phyllis Francis not only qualified for the Olympic Trials, but she made it back to the semi-finals with a seed time of 52.82—only .11 off from her personal best.

Gill Athletics and USA Track & Field Announce 2012 National High School Track & Field Coach of the Year Award Winners
CHAMPAIGN-- Gill Athletics and USA Track & Field (USATF) announced the 2012 Gill Athletics National High School Track & Field Coaches of the Year today.
USA Track & Field, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ (ECA) and the Oregon Track Club, will aid in bringing 12 teenage girls and four female coaches from Caribbean nations to the United States June 18 – June 28 to participate in a track and field exchange program.

Jessica Cosby has received the honor after establishing the American record in the women’s hammer throw Friday at the Prefontaine Classic, along with high school athlete Meghan Vogel, who showed selfless sportsmanship at the Ohio High School Division III state meet.
INDIANAPOLIS - The USA Track & Field Foundation Chairman Bob Greifeld and Executive Director Tom Jackovic announced today it has awarded 30 youth grants to track & field clubs throughout the country. The grants assist young male and female athletes with expenses such as travel to meets, equipment, uniforms, awards and facility rental.

With the 13:16.26 he ran earlier this year at the Stanford Payton Jordan Invitational, Andrew Bumbalough reached the Olympic “A” standard in the 5,000m. All that stands between him and a trip to London is a top three finish in the Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field, which is scheduled for June 21-July 1 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Shanghai, China - As the runners in the 5000m at the Shanghai Samsung Diamond League splashed their way around the track, Hagos Gebrhiwot looked increasingly at home.
Running his first senior 5000m on the track he may have been, running in illustrious company he certainly was, but Gebrhiwot looked like a man who belonged.
Shannon Rowbury clocked world leading 4:05.92 in the 1500 m and Don Cabral won the steeple in US college record 8:19.14. But possibly the most special is a unique one evening double of Mo Farah with 3:34.66 at the 1500 m and European leading of the year 13:12.87 in the 5000 m.

Each will feel pressure from previous Olympic or World gold medalists as the Pre Classic has assembled astonishing fields in both events.
Minneapolis/St. Paul – May 16, 2012 – Team USA Minnesota’s Gabriele Anderson and Jamie Cheever will compete at the USA Track & Field Occidental High Performance Meet in Los Angeles on May 18, and Meghan Peyton will be at the New Balance Boston Twilight meet on May 19.
Demonstrating it's continuing efforts to grow Throwing and Track & Field in America the World Throws Center is proud to announce the John Godina Summer Throws Camps at BOTH Sac State in Sacramento, CA and Tiffin University, in Tiffin, Ohio.
This year's camp at Sac State will be held July 2th to July 6th and the Tiffin, Ohio camp will be held July 9th to July 13th.
