January 26, 2009 from www.iaaf.org - German Fernandez , 18-year-old, on Saturday at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, AR, ran 3:56.50, the fastest ever indoor Mile race by a junior athlete in history. The previous fastest junior indoor Mile was run by Kenya’s Boaz Lalang who clocked 3:58.34, also in Fayetteville at the Tyson Invitational meet on 15 February 2008. Prior to that time another Kenyan Geoffrey Rono had run 3:58.60 in New York on 21 January 2006.
