What was your first experience in cross country?

As the 3-time defending State Champs, our boys were certainly fired up for this day's race - even if they weren't physically 100%.

November 5, 2008 from RunOhio (OH) Perfect November cross-country weather greeted 449 boys from 141 schools and 447 girls from 144 schools who participated in the 80th Boys and 31st Girls Ohio High School Athletic Association State Cross Country Championships.
November 4, 2008 by John Nepolitan. In this day and age it is rare when high school stars run more than one race in a week. Lanie Thompson (Voorhees HS, NJ) not only ran two races, but she broke two course records along the way.

October 15, 2008 By John Nepolitan -- Hot off of his 3rd Alaska State Cross Country Championship, Travis Dunbar (Kodiak HS) traveled south to take on runners in the lower 48.
October 15, 2008 from USA Today (Cary, N.C.) cross country coach Michael Miragliuolo doesn't always cheer for each of his runners in a meet. "The hardest thing is when 10 of my kids run by in a meet — I know the names but by the time I can think to shout them out, they're by me," Miragliuolo said. "I try to learn my whole team, but I don't really get to know them as well as I'd like."

October 8, 2008 By John Nepolitan -- Early in the 2007 cross country season Chelsea Ley (Kingsway HS / NJ) was one of the dominating runners in New Jersey, but at the State Meet of Champs had to settle for 3rd place. To get ready for the 2008 season and get revenge on the two runners that beat her, Ley logged week after week of 85 miles building a solid base.
October 7, 2008 from Northwest Runner -- The Eastside Runners Cross Country team is hosting its inaugural cross country meet on November 15th, 2008 at Lake Sammamish State Park – The Eastside Runners Invitational by Everyday Athlete and Run26. The course is a 5K for both men and women and is a mixture of grass, dirt trails and some pavement.
