Martin Manley has decided to move into the professional ranks of track and field. Manley, the 2013 World Youth Championships and World Youth Olympics 400m champion, has decided to forego his final year at St. Jago High School, to move into the professional arena.
The Trelawny Multi-Purpose stadium is to be renamed Usain Bolt Sport Academy.
According to Minister with Responsibility for Sports Natalie Neita-Headley the renaming of the Stadium in Bolt’s home parish will be done in the near future.

While reading the Carl Sagan book The Demon Haunted World, which is a classic about science, pseudoscience, and technology, I came across a section in which Sagan essentially discusses how science develops and what it actually is. His argument is that it’s really a method of seeing the world. Science isn’t the rote memorization and recitation of facts or the publication of experiments in journals, but a way of thinking. While there’s nothing new about this argument, I think it’s a clear enough distinction that is often forgotten in the world of declaring one a scientists because you have some advanced degree. In particular, one of the examples he used struck home.

When Meb Keflezighi won the 2014 Boston Marathon using a bold and well-timed mid-race breakaway, the major story was his becoming the first American man to win the race in 31 years. Not far behind on the attention-grabbing scale, though, was the fact that Meb had accomplished the feat just two weeks shy of his 39th birthday, making him the oldest person to win the race since 1931.

Defending champions Meb Keflezighi and Shalane Flanagan set to run 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Men’s and Women’s Marathon
LOS ANGELES – LA MARATHON LLC and USA Track & Field today jointly announced that defending champions Meb Keflezighi and Shalane Flanagan are the first athletes to officially declare their intention to compete in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Men’s and Women’s Marathon, which will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Los Angeles. The pair of Olympic medalists are currently the fastest men’s and women’s qualifiers for the United States.
