INDIANAPOLIS – USATF athletes preparing to compete in the IAAF World Championships will get quality sleep, thanks to USA Track & Field’s partnership with premium bedding topper company, airweave. Athletes in Narita will be preparing for competition at the IAAF World Championships, to be held August 22-30 in Beijing.
When Meb Keflezighi won the 2014 Boston Marathon using a bold and well-timed mid-race breakaway, the major story was his becoming the first American man to win the race in 31 years. Not far behind on the attention-grabbing scale, though, was the fact that Meb had accomplished the feat just two weeks shy of his 39th birthday, making him the oldest person to win the race since 1931.

Defending champions Meb Keflezighi and Shalane Flanagan set to run 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Men’s and Women’s Marathon
LOS ANGELES – LA MARATHON LLC and USA Track & Field today jointly announced that defending champions Meb Keflezighi and Shalane Flanagan are the first athletes to officially declare their intention to compete in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Men’s and Women’s Marathon, which will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Los Angeles. The pair of Olympic medalists are currently the fastest men’s and women’s qualifiers for the United States.
JACKSONVILLE -- Thousands of young athletes from across the country will be descending on Jacksonville, Florida for the 2015 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships next week, July 27-August 2. Athletes ranging from 7 to 18 will be competing in the full range of events at Hodges Stadium and 1,080 track clubs will also be represented.
TORONTO -- Kendall Baisden and Shakima Wimbley went 1-2 in the women’s 400 meters and Clayton Murphy and Ryan Martin went 1-3 in the 800m as Team USA picked up eight more medals, three of them gold, Thursday night at the Pan American Games at CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Athletics Stadium. The U.S. remains atop the medals table with 25, already surpassing the 17 medals won in 2011 and the 24 earned in 2007.

The double Olympic, world and European champion says his training is going well and that racing that distance at the Diamond League meeting on July 24 will be “the best possible preparation” ahead of the IAAF World Championships in Beijing where he will hope to successfully defend his 5000m and 10,000m titles.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The best youth athletes in the country travel to Lisle, Illinois, this week for USATF Hershey National Youth Outdoor Championships. The week-long event, hosted June 30-July 5 at Laughlin Track on the campus of Benedictine University, will begin with World Youth Trials June 30 and July 1.
EUGENE — The United States has never produced a 5,000-meter runner as fast as Molly Huddle, nor a 10,000-meter runner as enduring as Shalane Flanagan. But when the 5K's unstoppable force and the 10K's immovable object raced against one another throughout their careers, it was Flanagan who owned America's distinction as distance royalty.
EUGENE, Oregon -- The USATF Championship Series rolls to a final stop in Eugene, as TrackTown USA plays host to the 2015 USATF Outdoor Championships, June 25-28, at Historic Hayward Field. Hundreds of athletes will live out their dreams to make Team USA and earn a spot to compete in the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China this August.
