teamusamn_logo.gifMinneapolis/St. Paul – March 27, 2018 – FASTZach, a distance-based mobile app that generates routes in seconds for runners, walkers, hikers and travelers, has become a bronze sponsor and official training app of the Team USA Minnesota Distance Training Center.  The app is free at www.FASTZach.com and available on iOS and Android with the ability to create routes in over 50 countries, including the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

“We started using FASTZach a few months ago after learning about it and we’re very excited about the sponsorship,” said Chris Lundstrom, Team USA Minnesota coach.  “The first time I used it, I ran from home and FASTZach took me on a cool route that I had never done before.

“As elite runners training lots and lots of miles, our athletes can very easily get stuck in a rut of doing the same routes over and over again.  FASTZach provides a great tool for breaking out of the routine.  It’s also great when you are traveling.  It allows you to select some landmarks that you want to check out and creates a route that takes you by those spots.”

FASTZach plots, optimizes and tracks allowing users to explore somewhere new or to experience the familiar in a new way.  FASTZach allows a user to explore and plan routes in advance so you can know where you’re going, before you arrive.  After creating routes, users can choose to save, rate and share their route with family, friends and teammates.  Other features include easy edits, turn-by-turn voice navigation, GPS tracking, and round trip routes that start and end based on user location.

“FASTZach is thrilled to support Team USA Minnesota as they train and compete,” said Amanda Brooks, FASTZach founder.  “We are passionate about running and appreciate the miles of hard work that goes into distance training.  Knowing that we can contribute to the team by providing new and different routes as they train at home or travel is truly meaningful.

“Our goal is to encourage movement through exploration – for the everyday runner and those competing at the top of their field.  Through our partnership with Team USA Minnesota, we can increase visibility for our training tool while also enhancing the training experience of elite athletes.”

The app tracks time and mileage and the user can even re-route mid-run to return directly to the starting point.  Future features will include end-of-race stats, mileage splits, elevation, enhanced audio messages and social media integration.  The app supports routes up to 100 miles in distance.

“FASTZach has been fun to play around with both at home and when traveling,” said Team USA Minnesota athlete and marathoner Tyler Jermann.  “At home, after running the same routes day after day – or even twice a day – sometimes I just need something to change up the scenery and map out a new loop.

“When traveling for races, it’s even better to help locate the best trails to maximize the sightseeing and minimize the traffic.  The functionality even allows you to pick a sight or landmark you’d like to see along the way, pick your run distance, and it guides you along your route.”
