(IAAF) The Council of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has provisionally suspended the All-Russia Athletic Federation (ARAF) as an IAAF Member with immediate effect.
The decision was taken at today’s 201st IAAF Council Meeting which was held by teleconference and chaired from London by IAAF President Sebastian Coe.

Lord Coe has been urged to sever his ties to sportswear giant Nike in order to rebuild trust and integrity in athletics.
Coe, who succeeded Lamine Diack as president of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) in August, is a Nike brand ambassador but former Great Britain long-jumper Jade Johnson says that is a conflict of interests and wants the 59-year-old to quit the role as soon as possible.

2015 World Athletes of the Year voting proces...
Eliud Kipchoge and Mare Dibaba have earned the most votes in the road running category in the first round of voting for the 2015 IAAF World Athlete of the Year award.
There was plenty interesting to see in today’s NYC marathon. I caught a few things as I watched that warranted comment, and thanks to Jo Ann Mannino in NYC I also have video of the top five men and women from near the end of the race. Remember, if you’re going to be spectating at a World Marathon Major and can shoot some video and send it to me, it will be put to good use, I promise!
Enshrined in the Objects of the IAAF Constitution is the strongest possible commitment to world-wide development of athletics. This, of course, is a huge and complex task. The challenge is to create the conditions under which as many athletes as possible can express their potential in competition and derive the maximum benefit from the sport in the country of each IAAF Member Federation.
