Track & Field, Cross Country Help Set High School Sports Participation Record
NFHS survey surpasses 7.6 million for 2009-10; outdoor track and field reports largest participatory gain; #1 sport for girls and #2 for boys based on total numbers
INDIANAPOLIS - Participation in high school sports increased for the 21st consecutive school year in 2009-10, eclipsing the 7.6 million mark for the first time.

USATF Foundation Awards Elite Athlete Development Grants to 12 Athletes
INDIANAPOLIS - The USA Track & Field Foundation has presented Elite Athlete Development Grants to twelve athletes, Foundation Executive Director Tom Jackovic and Chairman Bob Greifeld announced today.

Monte-Carlo - The IAAF World Challenge meetings in Berlin and Rieti at the end of August were highlighted by two 800m World record performances by Kenya’s David Rudisha which improved on the 13-year-old mark of 3-time outdoor World champion Wilson Kipketer.

USATF Foundation Aids School Which Lost Track & Field Equipment Due To Fire
INDIANAPOLIS - The USA Track & Field Foundation has come to the aid of T.C. Howe High School of Indianapolis, Ind., with a special grant of $2,000 after a Labor Day fire destroyed much of the team's track & field and football equipment, announced USATF Foundation Chairman Bob Greifeld and Executive Director Tom Jackovic on Wednesday.

USTFCCCA Launches Track & Field Academy Program
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is pleased to announce the launch of the Track & Field Academy, an educational and certification program designed to provide professional development opportunities for coaches at all levels of the sport.

INDIANAPOLIS - 2007 Pan American Games silver medalist Kibwe Johnson has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after his win in the men's hammer throw Saturday at the 2010 DecaNation in Annecy, France.

INDIANAPOLIS - Bernard Lagat has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after winning the men's 3,000 and 5,000m over the weekend at the IAAF Continental Cup in Split, Croatia.

INDIANAPOLIS - Molly Huddle has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after breaking the American record in the women's 5,000m Friday at the Belgacom Memorial van Damme, the final meeting of the Samsung Diamond League in Brussels, Belgium.
