$245,000 raised during 22nd annual race - HOUSTON – (February 28, 2009) – Setting a new race record, 10,000 participants took part in the 22nd annual ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run. ( from IAAF ) Surging away from Spaniard Jose Rios, his final challenger, with 1300m to go, Paul Tergat won the 64th Lake Biwa Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label road race, with a relatively slow winning time by his illustrious standards of 2:10:22.
It was the third career marathon victory for Tergat, the former World record breaker, after his wins in the 2003 Berlin Marathon and 2005 New York City Marathon.
( from USATF ) BOSTON - A pair of records and a pair of two-time winners made history Sunday afternoon at the 2009 USA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center. Lolo Jones became the first back-to-back Visa Champion, Terrence Trammell became the first two-time men's champion, and Jenn Stuczynski broke an American record for the second time this season.

The final stop of USA Track & Field's Visa Championship Series, the meet will be broadcast Sunday from 5-7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
(Press Release )SALT LAKE CITY, UT (Feb. 27, 2009) – The economy may be slow, but runners are setting new registration records for the Salt Lake City Marathon, which takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2009.
“Involvement in this year’s race is up over 20 percent from last year,” says Salt Lake City Marathon Race Director Scott Kerr. “Last year nearly 11,000 people participated in the various events, creating our busiest year. For 2009, we expect to exceed that number.”
